We Are Example is an independent creative and communications agency with studios in Australia and the Middle East. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean:
The entity you deal with is responsible for your personal information. For most website and newsletter activity that is We Are Example Pty Ltd. For clients and contacts of our Middle East studio it is Example Middle East.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, and, where it applies to people in the EU or UK, the GDPR.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, religion or political views) unless we genuinely need it, for example a dietary or accessibility need for an event, and we only collect it with your consent.
Mostly directly from you. We may also collect business contact details from your employer, a colleague who introduces us, public sources such as company websites, LinkedIn and media directories, and from our service providers.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, on what is needed to perform a contract with you, on our legitimate business interests (for example contacting a business about relevant work), or on a legal obligation.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter or any marketing email at any time using the link in the email, or by contacting us. We never sell your personal information.

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Unsuccessful job applications are kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
