We created the brand, story and experience for Peregrin, a refined take on coastal dining in Merewether.
The second floor of the revitalised Merewether Beach Hotel needed to feel like a world apart from the pub below, elevated, coastal, unmistakably Newcastle. Peregrin was our answer.
When Example led the full transformation of the Merewether Beach Hotel, the second floor was always going to require a different kind of thinking. While Larrie’s and the Public Bar handled the community story downstairs, Peregrin was conceived as a refined coastal dining experience, somewhere that could hold its own against Sydney’s best while being completely and genuinely of its place.
We created the brand identity, the story, the spatial concept and the guest experience from scratch. The name, the visual language, the tone, all of it anchored in the sea, the salt air, and the particular quality of light that makes Merewether Beach what it is.
A restaurant that earns its place on the second floor by being exactly right for the first.
